Teacher Salary and Staffing Information

  • Average Teacher Salary 

    • Average salary of all teachers employed in FY2023 (budget year): $53,019
    • Average salary of all teachers employed in FY2022 (prior year): $51,475
    • Increase in average teacher salary from the prior year: $1,544
    • Percentage increase: 3%

    Accordance with A.R.S. § 15.903.E, amended by laws 2018, ch. 285,§ 10

    Creighton School District spends 65.8% of its total operational budget on instruction, instructional support, and student support as compared to peer districts which spend an average of 66.5% of their total operational budget on instruction, instructional support, and student support (according to the fiscal year 2017 Auditor General Spending Report).

Budget Hearing Notice and Truth in Taxation

  • In compliance with §15-905.01, Arizona Revised Statutes, Creighton School District is notifying its property taxpayers of Creighton School District’s intention to raise its primary property taxes over the current level to pay for increased expenditures in those areas where the Governing Board has the authority to increase property taxes for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2023.  The Creighton School District is proposing an increase in its primary property tax levy of $ 750,000.

    The amount proposed above will cause Creighton School District’s primary property taxes on a $100,000 home to be $13.3585. Without the tax increase, the total taxes that would be owed would have been $0.0000.

    These amounts proposed are above the qualifying tax levies as prescribed by state law, if applicable.  The increase is also exclusive of any changes that may occur from property tax levies for voter approved bonded indebtedness or budget and tax overrides.

    All interested citizens are invited to attend the public hearing on the proposed tax increase scheduled to be held June 27, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. at 2052 N. 36th St. Phoenix, AZ 85008.
